Identifying OutboundSync data in HubSpot

When to use this guide: Use this guide when configuring or validating CRM integration behavior.

There are two ways of identifying records (Companies, Contacts, Activities) that have been created or updated by OutboundSync in HubSpot.

HubSpot source properties are best for identifying records created by OutboundSync. If a HubSpot webhook receiver uses Contact handling: Update Only, OutboundSync may update an existing contact without becoming that contact’s original source. In that case, use OutboundSync activity records or custom contact properties, such as Last update source, to identify contacts updated by OutboundSync.

OutboundSync’s official app name in HubSpot is OutboundSync. You will find this used in various menus and sections like the Record Source Detail 1 property**.**

This is most useful when you want to find contacts or companies originally created by OutboundSync.

OutboundSync’s official app ID in HubSpot is 1738916. You will find this used in more technical places like the Original Source Drill-Down 2 property.

This identifies OutboundSync as the original source detail for records created through the app. Existing contacts updated by Contact handling: Update Only usually keep their original source.
