Clay → HighLevel

Clay + HighLevel integration

Agencies building client lists in Clay can show the results in the client's HighLevel. OutboundSync writes each Clay sequence event as a Note on the matching Contact.

BetaOne-way syncEmail

Clay + HighLevel at a glance

Clay's native sequencer connects to HighLevel through OutboundSync. Sequence sends, manual sends, opens, clicks, replies, reply categories, bounces, and unsubscribes are written as plain-text Notes on the matching HighLevel Contact in one authorized sub-account. Contacts are matched on email, and Clay tables map to their own sources.

Clay tables map neatly onto agency clients: one table per client, one sequence per table. OutboundSync mirrors that. Each table points at its own source, and each source writes into the HighLevel sub-account you authorized for that client, so activity never crosses between accounts.

Client teams see plain-text Notes on their Contacts showing which Clay email was sent, whether it was opened, and how the prospect replied. That gives them a reason to act in HighLevel, and gives you a record of the work that doesn't depend on screenshots.

Clay + HighLevel FAQ

  • What Clay activity does OutboundSync sync to HighLevel?
Email sent, email opened, link clicked, reply received, email bounced, lead unsubscribed, and lead category updated.
  • Which HighLevel records does it write to?
OutboundSync matches or creates HighLevel Contacts. Clay events land as plain-text Note on the Contact. See the HighLevel beta guide for details.
  • Does Clay activity create HighLevel opportunities?
No. OutboundSync writes Contacts and Notes only. Opportunities, pipelines, tasks, and tags stay under the client team’s control.
  • Is the integration one-way or two-way?
One-way. Activity flows from Clay into HighLevel, and nothing is written back to Clay.
  • Can I use HighLevel records as a block list?
Not today. Block lists come from HubSpot lists or Salesforce reports. The HighLevel beta syncs activity in only.
  • Do I need admin access to set it up?
The HighLevel user who authorizes the Location must use the same email as their OutboundSync login.
  • Which Clay plan do I need?
OutboundSync works with every Clay plan, because it connects to Clay's native sequencer rather than a plan-gated feature.
  • How is Clay + HighLevel priced?
Beta access is scoped with the OutboundSync team during onboarding. Billing follows the same model as every plan: sent messages per month. Replies, opens, clicks, and lead-category updates are not billed. See the pricing page.
  • Can I do this with Zapier, Make, or n8n?
You can wire simple Clay automations with a no-code builder, but step-based runs get costly and fragile as volume grows. OutboundSync gives you a pre-built path for Clay sequencer events, searchable event logs beyond 30 days, and pricing tied to outbound volume.
  • What breaks first when this scales?
Data quality and reliability break first: duplicate events, retries, out-of-order webhooks, and bursts during big sends. OutboundSync handles idempotency, timing buffers, and queue recovery, and flags suspicious or mismapped payloads instead of writing them.
