OutboundSync is now in the Close App Marketplace
OutboundSync is now listed in the Close App Marketplace — Close’s public integrations directory for teams that want outbound activity from their sales engagement stack logged on the right Close Lead. Gold-tier integrations Instantly, Smartlead, EmailBison, and HeyReach are the most common entry points; Clay, Lemlist, Aimfox, and the rest of the beta roster are covered below.

See the Close integration page for current beta scope and supported platforms.
Why Close is built for activity logging
Close grew out of Elastic Sales, an outsourced inside-sales team from Y Combinator’s Winter 2011 batch. Reps running outbound for venture-backed startups needed a tool that captured calls, email, and notes without manual data entry — so the team built one internally. That tool launched as Close.io in January 2013.
Communication and activity logging were the point from the start. Today Close combines built-in calling, email, workflows, Smartviews, and Chloe AI into a CRM for teams that sell from their desk (close.com/about). OutboundSync carries that into the modern outbound stack — activity from Smartlead, Instantly, HeyReach, and the rest lands where reps already work.
What the Close App Marketplace requires
Public integrations in Close’s marketplace connect through OAuth 2.0, not pasted API keys.
Per Close’s OAuth documentation and developer OAuth app guide:
- OAuth apps start private; developers request to publish them for all Close customers
- Users authorize through a consent screen (“Connect to Close CRM”) and can pick which organization to grant access
- Access is revocable under Settings → Accounts & Apps → Authorized Apps
- Public apps require TLS redirect URIs and standard OAuth 2.0 token exchange, including
offline_accessfor refresh tokens
Close currently grants full-access scopes to OAuth apps — the same practical access as an API key. OAuth gives admins governed authorization: approve, audit, and revoke access without sharing secrets. OutboundSync is a public OAuth integration.
What OutboundSync does for Close teams
OutboundSync logs one-way outbound email and social activity onto Close Leads during the current beta. Reps review synced emails and notes inside the Smartviews and workflows they build in Close — OutboundSync does not ship prebuilt Smartviews.
The Close beta is intentionally lighter than HubSpot and Salesforce: one-way only, less configurability, and guided onboarding with the OutboundSync team. Phone activity is not supported in this rollout.

For setup mechanics and onboarding expectations, see the Close CRM beta announcement.
How do Instantly, Smartlead, EmailBison, and HeyReach connect to Close?
OutboundSync receives webhook events from each platform, matches the prospect to a Close Lead, and logs outbound activity on that Lead. Email platforms capture sends, replies, opens, and campaign context. Social platforms capture connection requests, messages, and profile views.
These four are OutboundSync gold-tier integrations — the deepest product support we offer on HubSpot and Salesforce today. Close beta is one-way, but they are the primary entry points for teams evaluating an outbound-to-Close path.
| Platform | Channel focus | Integration page |
|---|---|---|
| Instantly | Instantly + Close | |
| Smartlead | Smartlead + Close | |
| EmailBison | EmailBison + Close | |
| HeyReach | Social | HeyReach + Close |
Full Close beta platform coverage
Beyond gold tier, the Close beta supports 18 direct integrations:
Smartlead, Instantly, Clay, EmailBison, Brevo, Reply.io, Lemlist, Aimfox, Drippi, HeyReach, Mixmax, SalesRobot, Salesforge, GetSales, Ken AI, SuperSend, HotHawk, and Master Inbox.
Lemlist and Aimfox connect directly — a step up from the earlier Master Inbox-only path. Lemlist covers email and social; Aimfox covers social outreach.
Via Master Inbox only: Expandi and Salesflow.
Salesfinity is not in this rollout — call activity does not map cleanly to Close’s email and note activity model in the current beta.
Other noteworthy apps in Close’s marketplace
Close’s integrations directory includes serious revenue-stack neighbors alongside OutboundSync:
- SavvyCal — native scheduling; books meetings, syncs Contacts, and supports round-robin routing (Close shipped the integration in May 2022)
- Calendly — embed scheduling links, auto-create contacts, and sync bookings into Close
- HubSpot — bi-directional marketing and sales sync for teams running Close alongside HubSpot
- Gong — conversation intelligence on Close calls and sales data for coaching and deal insights
- Clay — enrichment and orchestration on Close records; OutboundSync also syncs Clay sequencer activity into Close
SavvyCal and Calendly handle inbound scheduling. OutboundSync logs outbound sequencer activity. Gong adds conversation intelligence. HubSpot bridges marketing automation. Clay enriches and orchestrates. For full-funnel revenue teams, that mix is what Close’s marketplace is built around.
